Sue, a Texas artist, began her studies under the national and international artist Ms. K.K. Simpson about 32 years ago and also had the opportunity to study under the late Frederic K. Taubes of New York, an author and editor of American Artist magazine, in the fifties. He was one of the world's leading authorities on old master's techniques. These two educators have had the greatest influence on her art. Sue paints still life and landscape in an impressionistic style but the main interests in her works are her beautiful floras with their smoky backgrounds. She has been a very active member for over 30 years in the Art Association of Corpus Christi and the South Texas Traditional Art Association serving in both as president. She is also a member of the Corpus Christi Art Center and received many awards in these organizations over the past years. Some of her paintings are now in private collections across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
