My interest in art began in elementary school when I was introduced to oil painting. I took a variety of art workshops in different mediums while working and raising a family. After retiring, I returned to college, obtained my Associates in Studio Art, and became a charter member of the Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity.
I am fascinated with the ‘art of creating art’. Charles Webster Hawthorne said, ‘Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision –it is the seeing of the thing that makes it so’. For me, the act of creating art is euphoric. I get lost in the process of creativity regardless of the medium.
I am honored to have designed the Buccaneer Ball Gowns in Corpus Christi, Texas for two consecutive years. In addition, one of my paintings was selected for the cover of the book, “Testimonies for the Body of Christ”, by Terri Shook.
